Five interesting things that Hodges Capital research analysts discovered this week...

#1 IPOs: Shares of newly public companies have rallied an average of 33% on their first day of trading this year. According to Goldman Sachs, this marks the strongest year for IPO debut-day performance since 2000.

#2 Home Sales: Housing activity could increase by as much as 15% in 2026 if mortgage rates fall to 6%, according to Lawrence Yun, chief economist of the National Association of Realtors.

#3 Nicotine Pouches: A new study published in JAMA Network Open suggests nicotine pouches may help some smokers quit more harmful tobacco products. The study found that recent quitters were nearly four times more likely to use nicotine pouches daily compared to current smokers.

#4 Nasdaq: The Nasdaq’s market cap relative to the U.S. M2 money supply has reached a record 176%—nearly double the total stock of liquid money in the economy. Goldman Sachs notes this level is 45 percentage points higher than the 2000 bubble peak.
